Free NYT crossword

June 11, 2007

The NYT, which usually keeps all but its archival Monday crossword puzzles completely under wraps, is offering a web-only Sunday puzzle this week.

It’s “by Lee Iacocca” which in this case means he wrote the clues and somebody else put the grid together. I also wonder if he wrote all the clues, or just the themed ones.

I haven’t solved the whole thing yet, but so far I’m finding the puzzle disappointing for a Sunday. (I’m also wondering if Will Shortz is pissed off at all. As far as I know, “special” crosswords by CEOs appearing in the NYT are fairly rare.)

You can access a Java version here and solve it online, or download a printable PDF here.

Hi there just wanted to give you a quick heads up and
let you know a few of the pictures aren’t loading properly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue.

I’ve tried it in two different internet browsers and both show the same outcome.
